Susan Ruddy Photography | Location Suggestions for Portrait Session

Most of my clients who are having a portrait session done prefer to have an outdoor location.  Here are a list of some of my favorites along with some photos to help you envision what each location looks like.

Adams Farm, Walpole, MA - This is by far my favorite location.  There are many different locations with gorgeous backdrops including a red barn like building, a rock wall, butterfly garden, fields with tall grass, beautiful fences and wooded walking paths.

Borderland - This is a client favorite.  In recent years it has become one of my least favorite spots.  It is crowded with other photographers, you have to walk around quite a bit which means sweaty clients.  They have also started enforcing a $50 permit to take photos on the property.  It is a beautiful spot but in my opinion, not worth the time spent walking around and waiting for other clients to finish up as well as the cost.  If you are interested in a session at Borderland, the permit would be the clients responsibility and can be obtained on the website.

Downtown Providence

If you like the urban look, Providence or any city provides a great backdrop.  It is fun to walk around the city and use the cool buildings.
